Bayern Munich expect Leroy Sane to make a decision on his future by next week.
The Bundesliga champions made Sane their No 1 summer target and have been vocal in their pursuit of the Manchester City winger.
Sane, rated at £90million, is due to report back for pre-season training with Pep Guardiola’s squad in the coming days before their tour of Asia.
Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said on Monday: ‘He wanted to think about his future while on holiday. Now we have to wait.
‘The current situation with Sane is that he comes back from vacation this week. We are still looking for wingers as we lost two valuable players in (Arjen) Robben and (Franck) Ribery.’
City sources believe the 23-year-old will remain at the Etihad Stadium, although contract negotiations have been ongoing for a year.
Bayern have not lodged a bid for the Germany international, who has 39 goals in three seasons at City, and will not make an offer unless Sane states he is keen on the move.
