Real Madrid confident of signing Chelsea star Eden Hazard in time for the start of pre-season

Real Madrid are confident Eden Hazard will sign in time for the start of pre-season.

Chelsea star Hazard has a year to run on his contract and wants to link up with Real boss Zinedine Zidane. 

Reports in French paper L’Equipe claim the clubs have agreed an £87m fee.

It is suggested Hazard’s signing will be in the days after the Europa League final on May 29.

Chelsea declined to comment but are now resigned to seeing Hazard go. They could also lose teenager Callum Hudson-Odoi, who is wanted by Bayern Munich.

Chelsea outcast Danny Drinkwater, 29, has been banned from driving for 20 months after he ploughed his Range Rover through a wall when twice the drink-drive limit. 

Stockport Magistrates also ordered Drinkwater to do 70 hours of unpaid community work.
