Everton have been offered the chance to sign Inter Milan midfielder Joao Mario.
The 26-year-old Portugal international, who had a spell on loan at West Ham last year, is available for around £15million and also has interest from Porto and Monaco.
Mario provided two goals and one assist during 13 Premier League appearances for the Hammers in the second half of their 2017-18 campaign.
He has netted once and assisted twice in 20 Serie A outings for Inter this term.
Meanwhile, Everton, who are trying to convince Andre Gomes to choose them over Tottenham also, are looking to offload more than 12 players this summer as they revamp their squad.
Gomes spent the season on loan at Goodison Park from Barcelona but Everton’s hopes of keeping him could be dashed by Spurs, who are poised to pounce.
Toffees manager Marco Silva said last week: ‘The only feedback I have had until now is from Andre, our relationship is really honest from the first day.
‘He didn’t decide anything about his future and his agent too. This is what I can say to you.’
