Meghan Markle’s ex-husband married the heir to a multimillion dollar empire on Friday, almost one year to the day that his former wife did the same.
Trevor Engelson, 42, said ‘I do’ to 31-year-old wife Tracey Kurland in a pricey ceremony at the posh Rosewood Miramar Beach resort in Montecito, DailyMail.com can reveal.
The Hollywood producer’s new bride is the daughter of Stanford Kurland, the infamous moneyman who made million writing the risky loans that lead to the 2008 housing crash – and millions more buying back those mortgages at a fraction of the cost from the government just a few years later.
The couple were pictured kissing during their first dance after the pair wed at the idyllic California hotel.
Guests were treated to a game of giant Jenga with the happy couple’s name carved on the bricks and personalized serviettes to remember the day by.
The bride wore a traditional white, lace gown with an off the shoulder detail and veil.
Images circulated online show a tasteful decor with the venue filled with fairy lights and plenty of personal touches.
A menu posted to Instagram showed guests dined on a Caesar salad, burgers, french fries to share and wedding cake for dessert. Guests were also treated to fresh oysters.
Bridesmaids in floral headpieces also posed in a series of happy snaps posted to social media.
The bride and groom were pictured in earlier photos from the rehearsal with the groom looking smart in a pastel pink suit, while the bride sported an elegantly understated white lace dress.
Friends and family gathered for the rehearsal dinner at the upscale beachfront hotel on Friday night, ahead of Saturday’s ceremony.
He proposed to multimillionaire banker’s daughter Kurland, a nutritionist, last June while on a tour of California’s wine country after dating for a year.
The couple celebrated their engagement with a bash in October.
Photos from the wedding weekend show the parents of both the bride and groom in attendance to support the happy couple.
The beachfront Rosewood Miramar, where rooms start at $745 a night, proved to be a tasteful venue for the festivities, which will be held in a tented outdoor space.
Video from the weekend shows a lighthearted affair, with the bride-to-be laughing as she tossed out beach towels to her invited guests by the pool.
‘Thanks towel lady, will you also clean my room?’ jokes a friend.
The parents of the bride, Stanford and Sheila, live in Hidden Hills.
Stanford Kurland was the second-most senior executive at Countrywide, the mortgage lender, until 2006 when he left, selling $200 million in stock options.
Two years later the company merged with Bank of America in the 2008 financial crisis, and was widely blamed for the toxic mortgage debts which set off the markets implosion
Kurland helped set up another mortgage lender, PennyMac, in the wake of the crisis and stood down as its CEO in 2016.
Engelson popped the question to Kurland in California’s Napa Valley in June, two weeks after his ex-wife, 37, married Prince Harry, 34.
Kurland had her bachelorette weekend in Kona, Hawaii in February, while Engelson had his bachelor party in Miami Beach in March.
Engelson’s first wedding in 2011 was also beachfront, at the luxurious Jamaica Inn in Ocho Rios, in an intimate affair with 107 invited guests.
He divorced Meghan Markle in 2013, with the couple citing strain due to her filming schedule in Toronto for Suits, while he had to remain in Los Angeles for work.
While the Hollywood producer has moved on from his now-royal ex, it seemed during his bachelor party in March that he could’t escape his history with the Duchess of Sussex.
In social media footage obtained by DailyMailTV, Engelson could be seen being toasted – and possibly roasted – by a friend who appears to be referring to his ex-wife.
As the group of men lift up their glasses, one of them looks across to Engelson and says: ‘This right here… this right here is to royalty, you know what I’m saying?’
To chuckles from the group and the clinking of glasses, he continues: ‘Royalty won, royalty lost… But regardless baby, we got to keep going!’
As the rest of the group cheers in agreement, they all look in the direction of Engelson who can be seen smiling and nodding his head as the video turns to him.
The cellphone camera is then turned onto the person shooting the video, Engelson’s close friend Ray Smith, who says ‘L’Chaim!’ – a Hebrew term meaning ‘to life’, traditionally used in Jewish toasts and often at engagements and weddings.
According to staff at the restaurant, celebrity favorite Prime 112, the group, which also included US rapper Noreaga, had a long boozy lunch on Sunday March 17.
‘They were very lively,’ the source said. ‘They were here for a long time, had quite a bit to drink and were having a great time.’
The video was posted on the Instagram account of British actor Damson Idris, who stars in the US television show Snowfall, which Meghan’s ex produces.
In another video taken at the restaurant, Engelson’s friend Noreaga also gives an impromptu speech in which he looks at Engelson and says there’s no place he’d rather be than ‘with you celebrating brother’.
He adds: ‘You’re a great guy and you deserve it man, I love you…sorry to be emotional.’
Engelson responds: ‘It’s an emotional day.’
The friend who had given the earlier speech then chimes in and jokes: ‘If it wasn’t for Trev I wouldn’t believe that I could marry a future princess, so now I gotta…what princess is available right now, I’m coming for you girl.’
The group cheers and someone shouts out ‘Wakanda’, which is the home of the royal family in the Black Panther movie.
Engelson himself posted a group photo from the weekend, shot outside the same restaurant, with the message, ‘No caption necessary’.
And Engelson’s wife-to-be Tracey Kurland, who went on her own bachelorette party to Hawaii just four weeks ago, contributed with a joke.
In the post’s comment section she wrote:’…guess it’s time to get married now!’
Producer friend Dan Farah posted the same snap on his Instagram page, alongside #sundaysunday and #miami, and the post was liked by veteran Hollywood actor Tony Danza.
As part of the trip, which appears to have spanned a weekend, the group also went on a yacht on the blue waters around Miami Beach.
Damson posted a photo alongside Engelson on the water, both smiling widely in the Florida sunshine.
Among the other men on the trip were fellow producer Dan Farah and close friend Douglas Banker.
Previously, DailyMailTV revealed how Engelson and his bride-to-be, will be living in luxury if family and friends chip in to buy the regal array of items he and Kurland have placed on their wedding registry.
Engelson will have something to remind him of Meghan every day: the $275 eight-inch Waterford crystal ‘Meg’ rose bowl, from Gearys of Beverly Hills.
The happy couple have asked for a 24-carat gold-decorated Hermes designer service that almost costs a king’s ransom.
They’re also hoping to receive 16 dinner plates at $374 each, 16 dessert plates at $180, and bread-and-butter plates for a mere $135 per platter. That adds up to $11,024 for dinner before a morsel is even served.
If Engelson still pines for his ex, he can drown his sorrows in the set of six Baccarat crystal tumblers, on the wedding registry at $470.
Offering him a taste of Meghan’s British lifestyle are an English Spode cup, plate and candlesticks for $302.25 and a Ralph Lauren Greenwich decanter at $195.
Engelson, from Great Neck, New York, began dating Meghan in 2004, marrying in Jamaica in September 2011.
But within weeks of their wedding Meghan won her break-out role on TV legal drama ‘Suits,’ and spent months each year filming in Toronto, Canada. The marital strain contributed to their divorce in 2013.
Engelson has produced films including Robert Pattinson’s ‘Remember Me’ and the Bradley Cooper-Sandra Bullock comedy ‘All About Steve.’
