Man Utd wonderkid Angel Gomes plotting summer transfer after Solskjaer criticism

MANCHESTER UNITED star Angel Gomes is ready to quit the club after criticism from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The 18-year-old is deemed as one of United’s best young talents.

But a lack of first-team game time and reported criticism from the boss has left Gomes seeking an Old Trafford exit.

According to A Bola, Solskjaer has told the attacking midfielder that he is not cut out for the physicality of the Premier League.

Gomes does only stand at 1.68m and weighs around 55kg but has proven himself while plying his trade for United’s academy sides.

The English star is also unhappy with his lack of first-team minutes after being given a run out by former manager Jose Mourinho.

Gomes has captained England at U-16, U-17 and U-18 level on top of making his senior United debut back in May 2017.

The attacker was awarded just 15 minutes of game time on the final day of the season against Cardiff and has only featured twice under Solskjaer.

The Norwegian boss has struggled in recent weeks despite a strong start after replacing Mourinho.

A section of United fans want Solskjaer out before the start of next season.

But pundit Danny Higginbotham thinks the club need to stick with the former attacker.

“The talk of people saying Solskjaer should go already, I think it’s laughable,” he told talkSPORT.

“He hasn’t brought anybody into the club, he hasn’t brought in players he believes fit his style.

“He’s got to be given time in the summer to be able to do what he wants, whether that be bringing players in or getting rid of players.

“There’s been so much chopping and changing. You have to have continuity, because if you haven’t got that, you haven’t got anything.”
