CHELSEA take on MLS side New England Revolution on Wednesday night in the ‘Final Whistle on Hate’ friendly match at Gillette Stadium in Boston.
It comes as part of the Blues’ ‘Say No To Antisemitism’ campaign, which has seen representatives from both clubs recently visiting the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland.
Just days after Maurizio Sarri’s side finished up their Premier League campaign with a draw at Leicester, they are back in action for the charity friendly.
But after claiming a top four spot and with their Europa League final against Arsenal not for two weeks, Chelsea can relax somewhat.
Sarri may want to use the fixture to give some of his fringe players a run out while also keeping his first team stars ticking over.
New England, meanwhile, have just appointed former USA and LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena as both their head coach and sporting director after a poor start to the season has seen them slump to the foot of the Eastern Conference.
The timing of the game isn’t great for the American side as they go to 3rd place Montreal Impact on Saturday in Arena’s first league game in charge.
The idea for the fixture came from respective club owners Roman Abramovich and Robert Kraft, who will each donate $1m to the cause.
