Berlin International University, an associate of Istanbul-based Bahcesehir University, has been accredited by the German Council of Science and Humanities.
It has become the first Turkey-based private higher education institution that successfully met the requirements of Germany’s most important advisory body for science policy.
Enver Yucel, the founder of Bahcesehir University, has welcomed the council’s decision, in a statement on Thursday.
“I am confident that Berlin International University would make a positive contribution to relations between Turkey and Germany,” he said.
Berlin International University was founded in the German capital in 2014 and is part of the Istanbul-based BAU Global Education Network.
Currently around 400 students from 66 different countries are enrolled at the Berlin International.
